In 1987, as Jane's Addiction was still in the midst of putting together what we have now as their self-titled major label debut album, they were hauled into the tour entourage of British indie-goth rock band called Love and Rockets, as a supporting act during the latter's two-month tour.
Fast forward to 2024. Funk metal legends Jane's Addiction's all-OG members are reuniting onstage after fourteen long years. Returning the favor to the band who pulled them to their tour bus in 1997, the Love Rockets now step in to this co-headliner tour as an opener-support act.
A reunion and a back-to-back stint at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Thursday 29th August 2024 is a fantasy coming to life for the multitude of their zealous fans. Jane's Addiction has a massive following that even renowned rock stars themselves have witnessed firsthand. Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins relates his personal experience ...“In 1988, Jane’s Addiction saved my life,” he says. “Jane’s was the only band I saw in those times who had that ‘I-will-follow-them-anywhere type’ of crowd. Henry Rollins also tells Spin magazine that "There were a lot of great bands around at that time, but Jane’s had this tribal thing happening with their fans. It was very powerful.” Even in the throes of their break up, they managed to perform at the first Lollapalooza as part of their farewell tour. Since then, the Lollapalooza has become one of the most enduring, go-to alt-rock music fests of all time.
With the OG line-up in full swing at the concert circuit, the band merits a blazing five-star review from NME describing the show as “proving that, nearly four decades after forming, they’re still a force to be reckoned with.”
